Mixed bag with this place. Upon arriving, the outside looks run down. When you enter it is just tacky: beer signs hanging on the walls, advertising on the table tops, window blinds that are broken/damaged. That said, the food is ok. Not great, not good, just ok. Its rather bland and flavorless. The menu is sprawling at 8 pages. If any of you watch Kitchen Nightmares or Restaurant Impossible on TV, those shows would absolutely go crazy on this place with things that need changed. The portions are big and the prices are good. The food arrived quickly. Overall it wasn't bad, but it failed to wow our party in any way.

Consistent food, great staff, and really fast service! I don't eat a lot of typical Mexican restaurant toppings (cheese, guacamole, refried beans, sour cream), but the staff is so accommodating. My orders always come out correctly. There was one time when cheese accidentally came on my food, but they replaced it with a smile and I appreciated it so much. They really have some tremendous salsa -- nice and spicy! Their selection is also huge and has something for everyone. I'm a vegetarian and I love to go here. Their takeout option is great for lazy nights at home.

I've eaten Mexican food all over the US and have never found Mexican food so awful that I couldn't eat it until my recent experience at El Rincon. First, the salsa was watery and bland. No cilantro, no onions, no peppers. I asked for hotter salsa. The hot salsa was very hot, but no flavor. I ordered a simple dinner--cheese enchilada and a tostada. The red sauce on the enchilada was inedible. The enchilada itself contained very little cheese. The guacamole was obviously right out of the can. Taco Bell is way better than this stuff. On the plus side, the waiter was lovely and tried very hard to be helpful.

One more thing. Their margarita pitcher is quite good. Not as watered down as you might expect.

Get the queso. It's so good.

Excellent service; the fastest most reliable service ever anywhere. Food is inexpensive and consistently good. Food is not amazing, but given the other options in the area I give it a 5-star.

Best cheap eats in town and unbelievably fast service. Get the fajita nachos and split them. The grilled chicken with spinach and mushrooms is delicious too. The tilapia with veggies is another family favorite. Great strong margaritas - 1/2 pitcher for a couple is plenty.

I didn't come here for decorations I came for food and oh my gawd is it good food! Cheese dip- the best. Nacho supreme -the best. Vallarta chicken-the best. Fried ice cream- the best? Of course! Strawberry margarita was the best. Will probably eat here again tomorrow night! Service was incredible. Waiter was at our table nonstop, excellent service! Love love love.

Can't say enough great things about this place. Pitcher of margs for $16. My friend and I split cheese dip and each got a grilled chicken quesadilla off the ala carte menu. It was $15 a piece before the tip. AWESOME Margaritas, we couldn't drink the whole pitcher and were wishing you could have alcohol to go cups, but alas this is still widely frowned upon. Definitely would go here again, their cheese dip is the best. Service is quick, they are attentive to the end. Give them big tips to make up for it being so cheap!

Love this place! My fiancé and I go all the time. The service is great and the food comes out fast. Its very inexpensive for the two of us to eat dinner. Id you're a light eater like me I recommend the three chicken tacos. I eat one and save the other two and use the leftovers in taco salads or omelets.

I feel like this place might be a bit overrated. Prices are pretty good and the service is very fast, but the food is just average. Nothing I've had here makes me want to come back for more. It does not have the kind of flavor that I would expect from Mexican food. I've been to Mexico and I would not consider this to be as authentic as I hoped. The problem is that Canton does not have many authentic Mexican food options which is why I think many people like this place so much. The chips and salsa are great. Before we finished the chips, our food was already being served. I really think they have the absolute fastest service of any restaurant I've been to. Every time I've been there, I've been amazed at the service. I've ordered several different items off the menu and it's decent, but could be better.

Not bad. Food solid not spectacular...b- territory. Food came out super quick Service was really good. Clean Seems kind of like family atmosphere but I might just be rating lower because we were next to 5 low class gals with ringers on getting twenty calls......always annoying.

Blegh. Yawn. Huh? Blegh- this is just not good food. Now, let me hedge this by saying that I am from Oklahoma and I'm used to my Mexican restaurants to smell like food not cleaning liquids when i walk in (which 99% of OH mex joints do) and as such I have been spoiled by flavors that reflect their geographic proximity to the mother land,Mexico. (say it meh-he-co when you read that sentence, go back and do it again if you didn't, it adds to the flavor of the review. please and thank you) Yawn- I wanted to taste a couple of items to ensure that I had a good idea of what this place is all about. So a chile relleno and a hard beef taco were ordered. We'll get to the chile relleno, let's discuss the "taco." It has no seasoning or spice. I'm not asking for it to scorch my mouth or even be spicy at all but where are the onion, garlic, cumin, salt for heaven's sake flavors that should be a part of their food? So bland and boring, honestly I'd rather have a Taco Mayo taco. For real. Huh?- So chile relleno, i was pumped about this. I love that whole chile that has been roasted, peeled, stuffed with cheese and goodness, then battered and deep fried. Who wouldn't? That however was not what I got. There was some sort of pureed beans (maybe, i don't really know, it was bland and fit for an infant in texture and flavor) glopped on the plate, with a sliver of a chile on top that had been battered in egg only... What the? So confusing, so bland, so bad, so not a chile relleno. Thank the sweet lady of Guadalupe their salsa wasn't awful. I managed to get by on that. They have generous portions and the service was nice and prompt but i'm not going their for the friendly waiters i'm going to get down on some mexican food. well, i did and it was tragic so i won't be going back most likely. i hear rumor that the management/ownership has changed hands, if i can get some proof on that i'll consider giving it a second try. If you want amazing mexican food drive about 15 miles north to Akron and hit up la ranchero taqueria (sp). Amazing tacos, life changing tamales, that's what it's about. Don't waste your time, money and calories on Rincon.

Food here is good. You get very large portions and the always have a daily special up on the wall. Specials range from 1.00 tacos to 1/2 drinks and app's and kids eat free days. Service is always super fast! We always get our food within 5-7 minutes of ordering no matter when we go.

Unfortunately, I have to disagree with the review below although we are similar. I was born, raised, and live in California and visit my in-laws in this area. I've also been to Mexico several times and Mexican food is, indeed, my favorite food. Normally, when in Ohio, I rate restaurants according to what's available around here as it's not fair to compare the restaurants here to other places like New York or California. However, this place, though packed, was not the best Mexican I've had around here. There were some good points: I went on a Friday night and although the line was almost out the door, we were seated fairly quickly. The food is decent (remember, 3 stars = "A-OK") and, despite being packed, the food came out very quickly. I would have to disagree with everyone who said to get the cheese dip. It is nothing special.

This is my dad's favorite restaurant. I have to agree that it is some of the best Mexican food I have ever had. I love everything I get here. They never disappoint, and they are so reasonably priced!

Great Mexican place I've been to a few times while visiting friends in NoCan. The first place I've ever eaten where the salsa was so spicy I cried (and that's a good thing). Fast service, and they put up with your drunk, twentysomething shenanigans.

Took 5 business associates based on the yelp revues - and it was awesome! The spinach quesadilla was off the hook - and about the size of a football - which is appropriate for Canton... will definitely be back...

Ahhhh, some tasty Mexican...the salsa, chips, and white cheese dip is AMAZING!! Margaritas are strong... You can always count on a solid Mexican dinner from here..it's popular among my friends as a good one!

I have to agree with Karin M - boring...... so frequently in NEO the take on Mexican food is basically ground beef with bland spices sitting in a taco or on a tortilla with cheese and tomato based sauce. If that is your idea of tasty Mexican food, then you may like this, but to me, it just isn't that interesting.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I could find good Mex in Canton. Having lived in California I am an admitted Mex snob. And I don't mean high-falutin' Mex...I like down and dirty authentic Mex. Immediate points go to El Rincon for having 100% Mexican staff working in the place. And I love the note on the menu : "Unfortunately with the downturn in the economy we aren't able to accept pesos." Ah ha. This must be where the local Mexicans dine...good sign. The menu is extensive. They bring a basket of chips and salsa when you sit down. Damn good salsa...that's a good sign. I always judge the quality of a Mex place by its salsa. I then ordered Vegetarian #5 which gave me one bean burrito, one cheese enchilada, and one 1/2 cheese quesadilla. Price: $6.50. cheapy peepy! The food arrived STEAMING HOT. I love when restaurants serve hot food but my goodness, do your taste buds and mouth a favor and don't attempt to eat the food until it cools down at least 5-10 minutes. The service is very fast, friendly, and attentive. The decor has hints of Mexico but is nothing to brag about. I loved the 2 TVs in there so I could catch a college football game but I cracked up over the slew of overhead white signs ranging from Non-Smoking, Restrooms, Checkout, etc. The place isn't that big so the signs are complete overkill. Highly recommended.

This is my favorite mexican restaurant because it's so fast, so delicious, and so cheap! I've been there in groups of 4 and our bill has been around $20 and we can be in and out in a half hour or less depending on how fast we eat! It can get pretty crowded on weekends, but the turnover rate is so quick I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes for a table. El Rincon is a must for takeout at work too.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
